The exciting news is that resilience isn't something you are born with or just lucky to have. Resilience is something you develop. In this workshop you will learn the science behind chronic pain as well as how to develop tools to recover faster, manage pain better, be less susceptible to chronic depression and anxiety, and have better overall health outcomes.
We will dive into the physiology of pain, looking at chronic pain as a complex mind-body experience. This groundwork will help you choose from diverse strategies offered for managing pain and provide you with a toolbox of healing practices. We will explore ways to increase physical fitness with regard to flexibility, strength, coordination, balance, and respiratory function.
You will learn techniques for regulating physical and emotional stress; and cultivate awareness of where your attention, concentration, and cognition travels. You will leave with tools to build resilience, maintain a stable equilibrium and return to your normal levels of positive feelings more quickly.
